Accelerated Reactive Silica Test

Kimberley Granite Quarries has received the results from the Accelerated Reactive Silica (Mortar Bar) tests.  The test work confirms the suitability of the aggregate material to be classed as Non-Reactive.  The measurement results of a 0.06% expansion indicate that the aggregate material is substantially below the 0.1% expansion point after 22 days to be classed as a non-reactive aggregate product.

This excellent result along with the high LA abrasion index and very low chloride and sulphate solubility, continue to build on the excellent product qualities of the material at the quarry site.

New Test Results

Kimberley Granite Quarries has recently recovered a number of reprehensive samples from the company’s mining tenement at the Fitzroy South Quarry site.  The material has been submitted for Los Angeles Abrasion value WA220.1 analysis, to confirm the suitability of the material for a number of applications including road sealing aggregates.

The results from the SGS Australia test work returned excellent abrasion resistance with only 15.4% of the granite material passing the sized mesh limit, as per the attached certificate.

Other test work currently underway includes Accelerated Reactive Silica Mortar Bar analysis.  The results for these investigations are expected in approximately six weeks’ time.
